Valentine’s Day – Knitting with Love
One of our customers sent us this awesome picture of her Plötulopi yarn that she was currently using to knit her favorite Icelandic wool sweater.
All of sudden she noticed the heart-shape in the middle her plate of lopi and she wanted to share it with us and we couldn’t help but share the love, especially since Valentine’s day is coming up this weekend.
I guess this is just a proof that Icelandic knitting yarn is filled with pure love from inside out.. what do you think? 🙂

100% wool – Beautiful and soft chunky yarn from Hjertegarn Denmark.
100 g (approx 3.53 oz) = ca. 100 m (approx 109 yd.) Gauge: 12-14 m = ca. 10 cm using size nr. 6-7 mm.
Handwash only.
100% pure new wool. Medium-thick yarn suitable for many things.
50 g (1.7 oz) approx. 115 m (125.8 yd). Gauge: 10cm: 22m x 28p using size 3½ – 4 mm.
Can be washed on wool-program 30-40 degrees.
100% merino wool superwash. Wonderful and soft yarn – Perfect for baby clothes.
50 g (1.7 oz) approx. 180 m (196.9 yd). Gauge: 10cm: 30m x 42p using size 2½ mm.
Can be washed on wool-program 30-40 degrees.
100% cotton- Anti pilling cotton yarn.
50 g (1.7 oz) approx. 165 m (188.5 yd). Gauge: 10cm: 26m x 32p using size 3-3½ mm or US 2½ – 4.
Can be washed on 60 degrees Celcius.
75% wool superwash

Can be washed on 30-40 degrees Celcius on wool programs.
50% mohair, 50% acryl.
50 g (1.7 oz) approx. 165 m (188.5 yd). Gauge: 10cm: 16m x 24p using size 5 mm needles/pins
Handwash only.
45% wool, 55% acryl
100 g (3.5 oz) approx. 110 m (120.3 yd). Gauge: 10cm: 13m x 18p using size 7-8 mm needles/pins.

“Dear non-knitter,
Here are few things that are intended to help you understand us knitters better.
I can knit, talk and listen. The fact that I look you straight in the eyes while I’m knitting, should be an indication that you have all my attention (except while I’m counting). This is called multi-tasking.
Do not change the TV channel if I’m sitting in front of the TV with my knitting needles. I know perfectly what’s going on in the episode though I’m not looking at the TV and know very well who killed whom for that matter. The only time I do not want to talk to you is when you hear; “23, 24, 25, 26 ….” If you can hear me saying some some numbers out loud, it is a clear signal that I’m counting.
If you disturb me in these circumstances, I refuse to take responsibility for my own actions, if you are the cause that I have to recount these 376 stitches. Believe me, it will not be pretty.
Although I curse like a sailor, throw my knitting projects up against the wall, and at times may threaten every one around me, I really enjoy knitting. You can count on it that I sure do love it. I find it fun and incredibly relaxing.
Since we are already on that subject… YES, you can give me more yarn. Don’t assume that even though I have plenty of yarn, that I don’t want more. I have a lot because I love yarn. If you hear me talk about that I have too much yarn, then I’m lying. More yarn is ALWAYS a good gift. If my yarn stash is larger than in the yarn shop, then maybe I will think about it.
Thank you for taking this into consideration. I will probably send you more useful advice later such as “How housekeeping makes you incredibly sexy”.
Ps. You never know, maybe I will have you in mind when choosing my next knitting project. So be nice! 🙂 ”
