The Icelandic wool has kept us warm on cold winter nights for hundreds of years. Peysuleysi is an article of clothing which can be used in a variety of ways. It can be used as a shawl, bolero, sleeves, vest, trousers, collar, hat, sweater and many other things.

Peysuleysi is available in eight colours, black, greyblack, white, grey, blue, brown, yellow and red.

Its is Made in Iceland and is 100% pure Icelandic wool.

The United Nations has declared that March 20 each year will be the International Day of Happiness.

It was motivated by ‘the need for a more inclusive, equitable and balanced approach to economic growth that promoted sustainable development and poverty eradication, and the happiness and wellbeing of all people.’

A report released by the World Economic Forum ranked 140 countries according to attractiveness and competitiveness in the travel and tourism industries. One of the categories was ‘Attitude of population toward foreign visitors‘, where Iceland was on top of the list with New Zealand.

Free Knitting Pattern

In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Istex, the manufacturer of the Icelandic Lopi yarn, they offered this traditional Icelandic sweater pattern, especially created  by knitting designer Védís Jónsdóttir, as a gift to all Lopi knitters. Afmæli means “Anniversary” in Icelandic.

The pattern is in two sizes for children, 8-10 years and 10-12 years and in four Adult sizes and in five different color combinations. Please browse through the different colors of Lettlopi here.
