Oh! The Icelandic Weather!

The name Iceland is enough to send shivers up your spine and it’s no surprise that one of it’s distinct features is how uncontrollable and unpredictable the weather is.

On February 25^th, actor Russel Crowe told Jay Leno on The Tonight Show on NBC, that the weather in Iceland is very extreme and unpredictable. Mr. Crowe stayed in Iceland last year, during filming Darren Aronofsky’s movie Noah.

Mr. Crowe is definitely right – It is sometimes stated that we can’t be certain if a day in Iceland will feature sun, rain, snow, wind, hail, fog or a combination thereof.

Tell us your Story

Every year, we get visitors from all around the world to our Álafoss store in Iceland. We truly appreciate that we get the opportunity to meet you all and we would love to hear back from you here.

We have recently made some changes to our local store in Álafosskvos in Mosfellsbaer, Iceland. When you come to visit this important side of Iceland’s industrial history, you now do not just get to see the old factory building but we have also set up a small exhibit of selection of old knitting machinery and photographs from the early days.
